January is shaping up to be a busy month with NHIA’s ‘Super Tuesday’ making its International Dairy Week comeback on Tuesday 17th January for the first time since 2020.

‘Super Tuesday’ kicks off with the NHIA Members Forum and lunch at Tatura Tennis Club and concludes with the popular National Herd Improvement Association of Australia International Dairy Week dinner in Shepparton.

Traditionally one of the few occasions during the year where NHIA members and herd improvement industry representatives come together, the forum and dinner is set to return as a real celebration of our sector once again.

AFL icon Stan Alves OAM set for NHIA Dinner

From his first career as an elite athlete and coaching St Kilda Football Club to his post-football career as a respected media personality and sports commentator, entrepreneur and successful businessman, Stan Alves is an inspiring and engaging speaker.

Stan will share some of his story with NHIA guests at the 2023 IDW dinner with a focus on providing insights from his sport, coaching and business career that relate to the herd improvement sector, along with more than a few anecdotes from a long and distinguished career.

The NHIA dinner will be held at its traditional Shepparton venue, Cellar 47 Restaurant and Wine Bar on Tuesday 17th January. Make sure to RSVP as soon as possible as this extremely popular social and networking event usually sells out.

The event will begin at 6.30pm with drinks and stand-up starters to give guests a chance to catch up with each other, followed by a sit down dinner.

RSVP to [email protected] by close of business Wednesday 11 January. Please include any dietary requirements, all attendee names and whether you have any international guests attending with your party. The cost of the all-inclusive dinner is $130 per person. Cash bar will apply later in the evening for those staying on at the venue.

January 2023 Member Forum

NHIA’s original Member Forum returns to IDW next month.

Since our last IDW forum 3 years ago after coming through the business and personal challenges of COVID along with the new economic landscape, natural disasters and the ever changing face of the agricultural sector, NHIA has increased its engagement and activities with a series of popular out-of-town forums and events.

The IDW Member Forum continues this theme and format and will include a business update from CEO Sara Merckel and NHIA Chair Anthony Shelly, along with contributions from NHIA members, along with a complimentary lunch.

As with all NHIA events of the last few years the IDW Member Forum will also be available to stream online via Zoom for members who can’t make it to Tatura on 17th January.

Also on display will be the new NHIA Bovine Theriogenology Simulator, jointly funded by NuGenes Herd Improvement and NHIA, which will be available for hire to members from the end of January onwards.

If you have topics you would like included on the IDW Member Forum agenda please contact Sara Merckel to discuss.
