NHIA’s Newly Elected Chair: Nick Brasher
Setting a Strong Course for the Future
Nick Brasher says "my goal is to position the Association as a high-performing, future-focused organisation that leads with purpose and delivers measurable outcomes. I want NHIA to be known for championing the critical role herd improvement businesses play—whether in AI, genetics, herd recording, or tech services—and for being a trusted, unified voice across the industry.
Over the next 1–2 years, I’m focused on strengthening collaboration between members, service providers, researchers, and government to unlock greater value for producers through smarter, more aligned service delivery models. Equally, I want NHIA to remain relevant to all members—large or small, across all regions—by delivering practical support, industry advocacy, and clear membership value.
I also believe in honouring the foundations on which NHIA was built. As part of this, I’m looking to reconnect with past Directors and long-time contributors whose experience and knowledge remain invaluable. Their ongoing connection can help inform and inspire the next chapter of NHIA’s journey.
With a leadership style grounded in integrity, accountability, and a practical mindset, I’ll ensure NHIA continues to reflect the voices of its members while leading confidently on the big issues that shape our future. My vision is for the next Chair and Board to inherit a sharper, stronger, more connected NHIA—respected across the sector and indispensable to the success of our industry.
To Members: NHIA is here for you. As Chair, I’ll work to ensure your business is represented, your value is recognised, and your needs are reflected in the direction of our industry. Whether you’re delivering genetics, running a herd test centre, or supporting producers with other herd improvement services—your role matters, and I’m committed to making sure it’s supported and celebrated."
